For Love of Wakeboarding and Extreme Sports

I Heart Wakeboarding.
Whether it's as a player or as a spectator, I LOVE extreme sports. It's fascinating to see how fearlessly cool a lot of people are when it comes to their passion for high-risk/adventure sports. Right now I am passionate about wakeboarding, but there's still a lot for me to learn and train on before I even think or consider doing anything pro...

I've self-filmed some of my sessions at the lake (or at sea) but since it's just for fun and pretty random I resorted to using my Olympus waterproof camera which I pretty much carry around all the time. It's a bit tricky holding on to it though while holding on to the cable at the same time, but I managed to secure it to my hand just in case I crash into the water while filming. For future filming, I reckon I should invest in one of them GoPro cams like the HD HERO -- does a pretty nifty job I must say. Take a look at this wicked first person video of various sports pros taken using the GoPro cam:

While I'm at the subject of self-filmed videos, here's one of mine wakeboarding about a year ago at Lake Taco, a cable ski park in Samut Prakan (near Bang Na-Trad highway, Bangkok):

Throwing in an edited video of my first experience wakeboarding via speedboat in the rough waters of Koh Samet, Thailand, taken more than a year ago:

I've definitely improved since these videos were taken, but once I start getting off those kickers, sliders and tabletops and doing jumps and tricks on the wakes THEN we've got some spicy juicy action to film!

It gives me the same feeling of freedom that i usually have when i wakeboard.. Are you pluggin your camera on top of your helmet / hat ? I want to do the same haha

@ vincent91120: thanks for your comment! glad to hear from a fellow wakeboarder. yes, i know exactly what you mean about freedom :-)

this video was taken before i had a GoPro cam, so it was filmed with my Olympus waterproof digital camera which i secured to one hand whilst perched on top of the wooden cable handle. wasn't easy balancing it whilst manoeuvring through curves but managed to get something a bit decent at least!

i've shot new footage with the GoPro on my helmet but i'm still trying to get the best angle and fit so i can get the best results using the camera's awesome features. will be posting the edited video if i've collected some really cool moves on the water.
